But it would be nice if Wednesday could find a home with an older person who would give her peace. Had I been looking for another Russian dwarf I would have helped you out, but I just don`t have the space in my room due to already having a large cage and desk.

It`s never easy trying to find the right home for an unwanted hamster and many find themselves on Gumtree or dumped. I wouldn`t say contacting the SPCA was a waste of time because one hamster is being kept, while the other is still unwanted, even though Chloe`s cousin is an option. If the SPCA are a better option, I would still give them a call. x
Chloes cousin is 12 years old and is very mature, which I believe. I got my first pair of rats when I was 11! However, she has never had a hamster and Wednesdays behaviour may put her off wanting to keep her as she is a bit nippy...
I will speak to Chloe about it more when I next see her. Hopefully a home with her cousin will work out.x

Maybe you could write some handy tips for Chloe's cousin and offer to be there for any advice, if that fits in with your own commitments. It might be less daunting if Wednesday was accompanied with your advice and suggestions, ie bigger cage, join HC forum etc.

Just a thought.

What a story and update. Glad Priscilla is improving.
It really upsets me when I hear about hamsters being dumped because the owners fed up, that saying "A Dog's for life not just for Christmas" applies to all pets/animals.
I know you've done a good thing giving Priscilla a new home.
I too would suggest you give the 12 year old boy some tips/advice on caring for the other hamster.

Great idea!!
I'll write some stuff out and make sure Chloe gives it to her cousin. Are 12 year olds allowed on HC? Even if she is too young to make an account I'm sure she can still "lurk". I'll phone Chloe just now and update you all when I can

It`s good that you have advertised her here on the forum in the rehoming section as more members and `lurkers!` will see the ad. She sounds to me as though she needs a more understanding owner rather than a younger child as children won`t be interested unless they can pick up and cuddle and more often than not, that ends up with a bloodied finger! Given this hamsters past, I can`t say I blame her for wanting to bite, but hybrids have a reputation for nipping anyway and usually require patience, which a child doesn`t understand.

Hope someone comes forward to give her a nice home now. x

Hopefully someone steps forward to rehome her. Chloes cousin is unsure and wants to think about it first... hopefully we can find wee Wednesday a home!x

If you can get a pic to put in the adoption notice that might help. Poor thing.

I am going to Chloes today so I will try and get a picture. Wednesday is beautiful. She is white with yellowish brown markings, like a toasted marshmallow, with pink eyes c:

I do hope she can find a nice home because she`s will be older soon and will probably be better suited to someone who knows about hybrid diets and keep an eye on her for any signs of diabetes. She sounds lovely. x

Chloes cousin wants to be a vet nurse, just like I do, so I'm sure if she took Wednesday on and I gave her resources she would do plenty of research. But Chloe hasn't spoken to her cousin yet so I think Wednesday will be SPCA bound.... Wish I could take her but with 2 hams, 2 buns, a dog and 4 rats I'm pushing my limits lol!x
