Default Screaming in her ball...

So Dali was running in her ball and all was fine. She was returning to me when I called her name and doing kisses through the plastic, then she just gave a guttural scream and ran off into the bedroom with her ball screaming...

I have only heard that noise when she has needed a wee whilst she has been being handled in the past(she's has a touch of ocd, everything must be in its place). I wouldnt normally have her up at this time but she was awake and I am out tonight so figured I would give her a bit of ball time since she was awake and I was getting ready...

Just worried... has anyone else had this in the past?

Maybe something spooked her, or maybe she got a nail caught or something, but sounds unlikely she was in pain or she wouldn't have run off.

It's hard to say, if she's that OCD maybe she really needed a wee again or since you were getting ready to go out maybe you had on a perfume you normally don't wear that she got a wiff of through the ball? It really could have been anything like she got spooked or her nail caught briefly like Serendipity said. I once took Spike to the kitchen to weigh him like I do from time to time and he suddenly completely flipped, my husband had to dive in and grab him and we had to put him in his house to calm down. I suspect he heard something we couldn't that frightened the hell out of him, they are far more sensitive to things than we are. It's such a shame we can't just ask these little guys what's going on in their funny little heads . I think that as long as she's fine now I'd just keep an extra eye on her for the next few days and try not to worry too much about it.

I can't wear perfume or use aerosols, allergies. And i checked that she had nothing stuck. I wouldn't be surprised if she was just being a ninny, realising i was getting ready to go out and throwing a paddy like a child with separation anxiety. I've been home more then normal last three months as my anxiety has been playing up so wouldn't be surprised if she forgot that mummy does occasionally have have a social life and is showing her disdain! Lol.

I do think something spooked her for her to react the way she did.
Like Ruby says, keep an eye on her and next time you put her in the ball, monitor her closely.

She was running towards me so maybe it was my face that spooked her. rotfl. She seemed fine this morning when she got up for her early day ebolutions. I will just keep an eye. It always freaks me out when she makes noise as otherwise she is completely silent so I know its serious when she says something...

I know how you feel. Aside from the very rare odd duck, hamsters just aren't vocal animals. That's why when a cat meows we barely register it but when a hamster makes a noise you better pay attention because something serious is going on, even if it's only serious to their minds. It's always a heart in the throat moment.
