New hamster owner, two questions

Hi folks,

My son just got a female Syrian for his birthday ("Fancy bear" according to PetSmart). I did plenty of research and I think she is very comfy in her new home so far.

Two things I've noticed that I wanted to ask about:

- she poops a lot. It's normal poop (ie not diarehea), but I'm a little surprised how often she's pooping. Is that normal, maybe due to the stress of the move etc?

- I got her a Kaytee Comfort Wheel, 8.5 inch. I notice she seems to start to run right up the inside of it before rolling back down a bit. It's almost like she's too fast for it at times. Also normal? The wheel is mounted on the cage and kinda wobbly (and noisy lol). I may seek out a better option.

- actually one more question: 10 inch ball? The store had tons of 7 inch which I think are too small, and then 11.5 or higher which seemed huge.
