Hamster purring??

I have a winter white hamster, named Frodo.
Whenever im playing with him, he purrs? or does a fast clicking sound or something. What does it mean? Is he annoyed, angry or happy?

I have seen this quite often in dwarf hamsters and it usually means they are a bit nervous as it seems to stop once they calm down and settle or become tames.
It feels like a vibration and we call it Buzzing!

Hi - I also have a winter white. Bracken has always chatted away to me when she comes out. I've heard that it can be a sign of nervousness or excitement. With Bracken, it's definitely a sign of excitement/contentedness, she will also buzz too, Souffle. She's a happy fluff though and always lets me know when she wants to come out and enjoys her time on the sofa with me or the playpen, I can't hear her chattering in there but she certainly has fun.
