Default hamsters don't like him?

Hi
I had three syrian hamsters
Suger,Latte and Shinju(pearl)
Shinju she's shy around people
my husband try to touch her
she roll... show her tummy
did you know why she's doing this?
Latte
after he got used to his home..
I start to pick him up
he's smell my hand
never bite me...
taking treats from my hand
he's little gentleman
but my husband pick him up
he jump off his hands...
my husband saw Latte feel calm
on my hand
he feel jealous I can pick him up
is there any ways hamsters get used to my husband?

Is your Husband a bit afraid of being bitten? Hamsters can sense fear and will then become fearful themselves and attempt to jump away from what is scaring them.

Ways to get the Hamsters used to hubby would be to have him become the total source of food and water. You'll need to step back until the Hamsters all see him as the chow wagon and the watering hole.

If that is not possible that Husband can take over all duties except cage cleaning then allow him to give out the special treats to all the hamsters. Most men feel silly talking to a Hamster but if he can talk calmly and softly to them while offering them a quick to pouch or eat treat(Cheerios, Sunflower seeds, tiny bits of carrot etc). This will get them all used to his voice, his smells, and the knowledge that he not you always has the super yummy treats.

Hope this Helps you and Husband out and the Hamsters quickly learn to trust both of you.

That's normal enough I think, they know a strange person. He just needs to introduce himself nice and slowly, like you did at first

First time I got my sister to come look at Ceecee she hissed at her and she's never done that before or since! My bf makes himself liked using yoghurt drops and she's okay with him now but she still doesn't like him touching her.

My other half won't talk to the Hamster - he kind of smiles at him but Charlie can't see that. Charlie likes his feet for some reason (probably cheesy) but always snuggles up to me if other half moves - I think he's a bit wary of someone who moves but doesn't talk to him or handle him. Other half did stroke Charlie once but he's used to handling sheep and was a bit heavy handed lol! Nothing too serious. Skeever - you're a hamster owner so you talk to your hams. My other half just sees the hamster as a lodger to be tolerated lol!

Have the two of you considered marriage counseling?

Skeever you're so funny! A bit crazy also!

Us women are better at communicating with our little hammies and we don't feel silly talking to them.

^I second that, I look forward to reading Skeever's comments! They're so funny and sometimes I imagine him really doing that with his hammies.

My SO also talks to our hammies but they never listen to him properly, lol. They also know they can get more treats from him )

Nope - we're like the society for Agorophobics - we can't agree on a meeting place. Apologies if this is insensitive to anyone, I know it's a non PC joke.
