Re: This is Either Disturbing? Or Heartwarming.....?
This about killed me I am laughing so hard!
One of my gerbils once did a little wee sitting in my hand and then rubbed it in with his scent gland which I thought was so sweet and so gross... However this was clearly not what you described happening :')
My little old lady Syrian Marge always sits in her sand bowl, turns her back to the room and does her business very modestly and lady like , I cannot imagine how I would react to her doing that.
Please let us know if you come to any philosophical conclusions! ha!

Hetch, at least he doesn't bathe in his pee corner like my Mylo! He also has no issue peeing in front of me, however he is in an aquarium so it all stays in. He just backs his little man parts against the glass & let's loose.
By nature, he is more skittish, & in the first weeks of having him he peed on me twice & they were noah's arks like floods. He gets this look like a deer in headlights, & stands up on his hind legs. Then, as though he is pushing ever liquid out from his head to his toes, he squishes in this Buddha like pose.it is kind of like when you squish a gummy bear. The first was in his ball & the second was when I thought it would be sweet to cuddle him in bed like my childhood hamster. Yep, learned my lesson! Good news Skeever, he has held it in ever since.
I used to manage a horse barn with a friend & we used to play "If they were human?" all the time. Like if my Mylo were human, he would be the teenager that perfected the just rolled out of bed look. Not afraid to smell or look as though he hadn't showered in days, but some how, still kind of attractive. Think Robert Pattenson during twilight.

I finally read the entire thread & I'm laughing so hard I nearly did a Pook!
Just accept it Skeever, it has to be a token of love shown in a weird hammy way

Sounds just like my Flynt but I know at least one of us is crazy

If Charlie was human he would be a tax inspector with obsessive compulsive creative talents - lovable, nervous and so very particular about everything being 100% in the right place.

Awww, Pook just loves you that's all lol.
Pumpkin is not shy with his bodily functions either. He doesn't care if I'm staring at him, he will go right to the corner nearest to me, smoosh his butt up against the glass, and let 'er rip. When I'm petting him he likes to sit and fling his poop too. These are gross little guys lol.

Re: This is Either Disturbing? Or Heartwarming.....?
I'm so glad, Pumpkinsmom, that another hammy does this....we still are not one inch closer to figuring out what it means, but......
I wish Pook would fling his poo. I'd let him loose on guests who have overstayed their welcome
Last two days, its some kind of blankie fetish.....moving all his blankies into his wheel, then out of it and under a hide, then back into the wheel.....he's been very industrious. Doing what, for what purpose I have no idea....all I see is litter moving around in different configurations, piles and peaks and valleys......

Maybe he's trying to tell you something with his sculptures. All I can think of is Richard Dreyfuss endlessly building sculptures of the Devil's Tower out of household stuff...and how sad it was that nobody understood him...

Re: This is Either Disturbing? Or Heartwarming.....?
That was my first thought too.....but its not a natural landmark he's built, and he keeps shifting it about.
No landmarks that I know of anyways...
He clearly just peed in his food corner again......it was quite fresh, but he seemed to have moved the small food dish this time......still, progress is progress.....
I think he's getting vocal....or he's sneezing....not sure which. There's no real physical effects of a sneeze, apart from maybe his snout moving? Odd one off cross between a sneeze sound, a chirp and a squeak? I'll hear a couple in a matter of a minute or so, then nothing. Usually when he's moving piles of litter?

Well now that you mention it, the Devil's Tower wasn't known even to the people who were making images of it, the image had been put there by the aliens to draw them to the meeting place
