Default Do hamsters ever get depressed?

I was wondering if hamsters that live in pairs ever get depressed if one passes away. Neither of my boys are close to passing at all, but I was just thinking about it. I know that guinea pigs will often get depressed if their cage mate dies, but guinea pigs are also more social creatures than hamsters. Has anyone seen their hamster get depressed if their cagemate dies?

We have seen dwarf hams become unhappy when their cagemate goes (be that dies or is removed after attacking them) but they do usually get over it in time

I would probably just give the surviving hamster lots of extra special attention for a little while and I'm sure they would cheer up
