does anybody have a hammy that doesnt like wheels? ellis wont use them at all. ive tried big and small and different styles but he just jumps out. i have spun it with him in it to show him how so he gets the idea but he wont. the strange thing is he loves his ball! even if i leave the door off he still runs round the house in it. he is mr speedy. anybody had a hammy do this??????

my hamster bea used hers as a baby but for the last year and a half she wont touch the things. as if the are cursed.hehe

Well ellisyellis at least he likes the ball and is getting exercise some way.
I gave Toby his new wheel yesterday and I spun it just so he could see how it worked. He pinned it down immediately with his two paws to stop it and then proceeded to climb on.
am glad im not the only one with a wheel hating hamster! i had tried everything to give him the idea but he simply doesnt want to go in it. although if he would use it im sure he would love it as he loves his ball!
My hamster won't touch wheels either. I got her a ball but sonce she allways bumps it against hard objects and I am tempted to get one thats on a stand I think you can get them off amazon
ye i want to get one with a frame, ellis goes so fast in his ball he smacks into things. i have put a kebab stick threw the middle and taped the ends onto chair legs before. works great. he was loving the speed he could go at off of the floor!
My hamster Bunky used to use it loads but for the last 3 weeks or so now I haven't seen him touch it. I even lifted him onto the wheel and he still isn't interested. He loves his ball though. Bunky did fall off his wheel recently, but he's used it since. Maybe your ham has had an accident with it in the night, and although there's no visible sign of injury, and he didn't actually hurt himself, he's scared to use it?
