Silent Spinner Chewing
So when I got home and opened my Amazon delivery (which was all for Tuna) and put her new ReptiSand and Potty Litter in her cage, I heard her chewing on something. After detaching her Silent Spinner wheel from its base, I could see her chewing the middle bar. I attached a photo of how much she has already chewed.
I'm worried to put the wheel and base back in her cage because I don't want her to chew all of the paint off of the base and get sick. She currently has her nest behind the wheel (I guess for easy access to chewing...). She needs more things for chewing in her cage, but I can't get to the petstore for a couple days. She loves to run on her Silent Spinner, so I don't really want to leave it out. I guess I could move it so that the part she is chewing on is against a wall, but I don't really want to destroy her nest, since she's only 7 weeks old and I've had her for 2 weeks.
Do any of you have any suggestions? Or is it okay that she is chewing on the base? I'm just really worried about her ingesting the paint.

Re: Silent Spinner Chewing
The paint probably won't hurt her. It's probably acrylic, which will just pass through her system. I'd be more concerned about breaking a tooth.

Re: Silent Spinner Chewing
Ohh. Alright. Well I moved her wheel to be more against the wall so that she can't get under it, and I am planning on getting her some chew-things today. Hopefully this solves the problem!
Glad to know she's okay if she ingests the paint.

Re: Silent Spinner Chewing
Ours do that sometimes! It will be safe and non toxic so she should be fine.
I would let her have the wheel back if she loves running on it x

Re: Silent Spinner Chewing
My hams chew it too. Be careful with it against the wall it might be noisy. My Syrian knocked hers to the side of her tank and then it wakes me up.

Re: Silent Spinner Chewing
Thanks everyone. (: Tuna got a chew block and a new alfalfa chew and I moved her wheel and she moved her bed. I think we're all good now!
