Exclamation Something is wrong with my syrian hamster

Ok, so I don't know if this is normal or something is wrong with him but he is sleeping all the time! and this worries me. I know that they sleep at day and are active at night but anytime I check on him he is sleeping! He comes out rarely and sleeps all day and night! If I want to play with him I have to wake him up. He acts normal when I wake him up running round, cleaning himself, etc. But when I put him back in the cage he goes to sleep again and stays sleeping until I wake him up again! This is worrying me a lot. Is this behavior even normal or is he sick? I would greatly appreciate it if someone helped me with this. Please explain :/

Some hamsters do sleep very late not waking until early hours of the morning. Have you done a health check on him?? if you are unsure on how to do one just type hamster health check in you tube and videos will come up?
How old is he? as hamsters age they do sleep a lot more. is he eating and drinking ?
have you noticed any lumps or bumps on him? is his eyes and nose clean? xxx

I don't know how old he is but he is young is what the people here told me, well yes he is eating but I never saw him drink before. I got him 4 days ago but he never drinks. I asked about that and the people told me they are desert animals so they drink very little. Checked him now, eyes and nose are clear, bottom is dry (so I guess not wet tail) poop seems normal, no bumps or lumps, he seems to be pretty okay. But I still don't get the sleeping all the time.

That's normal behaviour for young pups and eventually he will familiarise with your routine and hopefully will start to wake up early. As long as your hamster eating and drinking and moving around without trying hard and without bad smell he is healthy so far I think.
Your hamster just moved into new environment so I'd say little patience and letting him to be is the way to go.

If you are worried about his drinking you can put very little water in shallow saucer or even in lid of jam jar etc. also you can offer him little cube of cucumber or apple or banana and he will get some fluid from fruits and veg you are giving. But I'm sure he is drinking while you sleep. My hamster used to get up around 3 o'clock in the morning at the beginning. But now she gets up around 11 o'clock evening so it is progress.

Oh I see well that is a relief. I was worried about him and yeah he seems pretty okay except for the sleeping lol so you think it's better if I put some kind of plate or so with water in it ? Or will he just drink from the bottle ? Because the bottle is pretty nice what you say ?

I'd say if you get some cucumber or strawberry and rub around his water bottle he will find fruit smell tempting and might discover his water bottle.

That's a great idea ! Imma do that oh another question his peeing area, it's under the hanging water bottle, is that okay? Because to be honest there is no place where I can put it somewhere else. Is it okay if I leave it where it is? Is it dangerous for him ?

Yep I'd say leave things as it is including his water bottle until he settles in. Just pick up his toilet area and put down new shredded tissues.
