Default What can i expect when moving hamster to a new cage?

I have had my Syrian hamster about 2 Months, she had belonged to a friend before who couldnt be bothered with her, and she had had her just before christmas maybe, im not sure exactly and im not sure if she is even a girl......., she had the basic habitrail ovo setup, but when i took her i got her the adventure pack to add on to it:

Today i have ordered a Alaska cage for her and all new items to go in the cage as most of what is in her current cage is all connected, wheel, bed ect.

Is it going to stress her out when i move her? as i am not going to be able to move anything into there with her scent unless i move her bedding?

help would be much appricated, i am hoping the new cage will be here monday.....

My top tips for moving a ham from one cage to another!
1) Put as much of the old bedding as possible into the new cage.
2) Try to put one of their old toys in the new cage
3) Scatter a bit of food around to help distract them from their new surroundings.
4) Leave them alone to settle in for a day or so.
5) Expect a bit of unusual behaviour during the settling in period (digging in corners frantically e.c.t )
6) Rub a bit of fruit or veg on the waterbottle spout to help hammy find it!

(Is that bedding in the bottom left at all similar to cotton wool? If so, please remove it as any of that sort of bedding, no matter how safe it claims to be, can be really dangerous!)

for the alaska make sure you have a pair of pliers for the hooks to conect thesides
pasta has it ad he loves it! hei found he got friendlier when he went in it and stopped bar chewing

id gradually introduce the toys though so not to overwelm himif you havent already buy some hammocks or make them as the cage is quire tall

You should have already had to enter your card details O.o I wouldn't bank on your Alaska being already ordered to be honest... maybe give Zooplus a ring? I had an accident where I thought I had brought and payed for five of something instead of one (I had only brought and payed for one) and they were very helpful!
