Question Waking up in the middle of the night

So Peaches has recently started trying to eat into the floor of her house. We have a critter trail and its pretty jazzy in my hamster mind (pic to come) its like an acrylic plastic on the floor and in the pods, some of you may know. Anyway when she scrapes her teeth against it its terrible and wakes us right up. Yelling Peaches Stop! from across the room has not worked for her dad . She's got a chew in there, I'm thinking of adding a dog biscuit after some research; but is that the problem? Has anyone else seen theirs doing this? I also feel like she's always trying to escape but she gets LOTS of time out of her house with her being an only child and all.

It really doesn't matter what we give our hams. If they find some dent or edge to chew on, they'll do it. One of my hammies actually chewed his way out of one of the bubble caps on a habitrail tube. (The round piece that closes the tube up.) I couldn't figure out how his teeth could possibly get a hold in order to bite it, but he managed it. Hammies are just natural born wanderers and the grass ALWAYS looks greener on the other side to a hammy. It's just the way they're made.

Hi Peachs' Mommy, it could be that the cage is too small for her. Reading some of the posts of the members in the US I know it's harder to find bigger cages there. But the good thing about crittertrail cages is that they can be connected to bin cages like this: http://img86.imageshack.us/img86/8395/dsc01092xdt6.jpg

But if you post a picture of the cage we might get a better idea. Hope you find a solution soon.

PS: Also does she use her wheel a lot?
