Re: my syrians are scared again :(
If you don't mind me asking, why did you get so many hamsters in the first place without doing the proper and required research about them? Its kind of a necessary thing to do when your thinking of bringing a new pet home. That way, you'll know what the latest care requirements for the new pet(s) are going be. Its not that I am saying your being irresponsible or heartless, because your heart is in the right place, its just that I think your overwhelming yourself and need to reduce the number of hamsters you have to a manageable number.
I also don't mean to burst your bubble, but a single baby crib won't be enough room to house the number you have AND meet the space requirements set forth by the RSPCA. They say that a single hamster MUST have a cage no smaller than 75cm by 40cm or 3000cm squared in total floorspace. Add up the 4 adults and the litter of pups and you'll need a lot more space than a baby crib has.
Also, its much better and safer for the pups if they are in a nursery tank rather than a cage with bars. However, given your current situation, I'd just leave them be where they are and try to make the bars of the cage as close together as humanly possible so they can't slip out. Small spaced hardware cloth, commonly known as wire mesh, is good to use.
Please take our advice and rehome most of your hams. Its best for the hamsters and for you in the long run as they will literally eat you out of house and home, what with the vet bills, and the food and bedding costs and such. Its something I am sure your parent(s) wouldn't like at all.
