Default Wood chewing

wonton has never been a bar chewer and never chews on his wooden chew toys (much to my dismay). however, lately he has been waking me up in the night with his LOUD chewing of his ferplast guinea pig house!

i'm pleased that he's potentially wearing his teeth down but i'm wondering why he'd suddenly start chewing it so much? my oh just sent me this photo! he found him middle of the day, chewing away!!!

could it be boredom? like bar chewing. or could he just be wearing his teeth down?

Have you checked his teeth are ok? Sudden obsessive chewing can be a sign of tooth problems.

If his teeth are fine he probably just enjoys it in which case its better than him chewing the bars and I'd be happy he's not going after those

Are the other chews you have coloured? Because Minnie only chews natural looking wood and so when all the chews I gave her were coloured, her house bore the brunt...

Hey guys... Wonton was at the vets last night as his scent gland is not looking good. I asked the vet to check his teeth and they're in pretty good nick!

He has natural coloured chew toys but doesn't touch them. Oh well! I'm happy he's keeping his teeth down and that he's enjoying himself
