You shouldn't grab a hamster, you will cause it to become frightened and stressed. There are much, much better ways to tame a hamster and it certainly isn't fair on the hamster to let children grab it as they can easily hurt them by grabbing them.
no! am not saying my way is the only way at all. everyone does it they own way. i was just telling her how i do it my way..

ive had plenty experiance with hamsters over the years! and have lived long happy 3 year lifes! and as for the children i would never let them hurt the hammys! but i cant stop them for holding them thats just not fair... and they would only hold them once i know they were use to us. if i didnt care about the hammys i wouldnt be on here!

Might just be my view but outright grabbing a hamster isn't a great idea. You can scoop them up without their consent and it works much, much better than grabbing. If we grab our 100% wonderful and tame hamster Scamp, she won't be amused. If we scoop up our less tame Fwirl without her consent she doesn't object too much. If we grabbed Fwirl I'd expect a well deserved bite to be honest.
Its a minor difference but I'd definetly vote for avoiding grabbing.

I never said that your hamsters haven't had happy, long lives. I never said that you don't care about them. I'm talking about one aspect of handling, not over all care.

Grabbing a hamster is not a good thing to do. You won't convince me it's ever a good thing to do, certainly where taming is concerned.
