Default Pooing in bed

So Belle poo's in her bed. I wouldn't mind except that she stores her food there too. I'm going to buy her a hamster toilet and hopefully she'll use it but until then is there anyway I can encourage her to poo somewhere else or to store her food somewhere else? I'm worried about her getting sick if the poo is mixing with her food but I don't want to empty her stash everyday because I don't want to upset her ...

I wouldn't worry about this. It is absolutely normal. The hard black poo is very dry and quite harmless and innofensive. It won't harm her at all
Baby hamsters sometimes get a bit confused and wee in bed but they will soon get in to a routine of going in a potty or wet corner.

I doubt it. We have never had a hamster who will poo in the potty unless by accident! They more tend to digest food while asleep and throw the poos aside while they are in bed!
Try adding some of the wet stuff to the potty to try and encourage its use. Make sure it is a good size and the hamster can easily adopt a normal wee'ing position when in it!

Ok. What would be the best one to get in terms of size?

We heard somewhere that they eat their own poo sometimes because they didn't digest everything properly the first time. Not sure if it's true or not (definitely disgusting!) but if that's the case, it shouldn't matter

If you think about it, there's nothing wrong with them pooing in their bed when they store their food in it; they eat their poo.
It absorbs the vitamin B that the dont absorb from their food.

I tried putting the poos from Olive and Gem's beds in the toilet, and then i'd come back the next morning to see they'd disappeared, and just presumed they#d eaten them

I find this is really good
Hamster Toilet by Ferplast | Pets at Home

And Olive and Gem always loved running through it as a tunnel! Plus it keeps the smell of the wee contained quite a bit
