Re: Aggressive hamster, can't tame him
Hams can't go outside For all the reasons stated above.
What cage is your hamster in? I have a barred cage, a deep layer of woodshavings and only a small amount gets out of the cage...

Re: Aggressive hamster, can't tame him
I will put in inside and I will just clean up the mess everyday. All my hamsters were kept outside at summer and inside on winter. The cage doesn't see sun because I have something like ceiling on my balcony.
I have a wire hamster cage and I put quite a lot of bedding so he can dig. He really likes it :P

Re: Aggressive hamster, can't tame him
It still makes him vulnerable to flies and other flying, egg laying insects, especially if your in a warmer climate. Hamsters prefer cool rooms to warm conditions so just making sure he is out of draughts and away from any predators (especially cats), he will be best kept indoors where you can enjoy him.

What size is the cage? As in the measurements.

Re: Aggressive hamster, can't tame him
You could always put a larger box around it. It'd be a nightmare to do with the cages we use, but it might be feasible.
Then the box collects the mess and saves you needing to clean it.
We just leave aubiose over the floor though
My OH hoovered yesterday and today we're changing two ham cages around so will end up with more on the floor again and we just don't worry about it.

Re: Aggressive hamster, can't tame him
Hey people I got news. A few hours ago I went to try to tame this bitting hamster. I put on a glove and some food on it and I placed my hand on the floor of the cage. When he saw it, he came out his house, it squeeked, bit it and went back. It did the same things for like 2-3 times and the 4rd time he came back sniffing it and not bitting but not taking the food as well. He just stayed near my hand and sniffing it. Is this a good sign? If yes I will try this 2-3 times everyday.

This is a good sign! Hopefully he starts getting used to your hand and your scent and if you talk to the hammy as well helps cause then it will recognise your voice too. Good luck from me too!
