Default Shy Robo

Two days ago I brought home my robo girls, Chibiusa and Kousagi. I noticed that one, Chibiusa, seems to be bolder and comes out at night to eat, drink, run on the wheel, ect. while Kousagi is shyer and spends most of the time hiding deep in the bedding. I hope she comes out when I have gone to sleep. Then again, they are still adjusting to their new home so I guess I should give it time?

Giving them time to settle in will probably help bring out her character a little more but some robos are like this. My Husky robo, Trevor is the same. I don't see him until the lights go off late at night and even then he is very secretive, some just don't like to be out when they can hear noise or when it's light and some don't really care.

You shouldn't be too concerned unless you can see that she is losing weigh or has become dehydrated, though I doubt she will as she's most likely getting her food and water in the dead of night when it is dark and super silent

Siblings can be very different to each other. One of my robo pair was really friendly and keen to play, the other was grumpy and avoided me.
She should come out of her shell over time, but may still like to keep herself to herself x

Yeah, our girl Whizz has/had major issues because of her life before we got her (she's a rescue) and it took ages but in the end she got a lot more confident. All interaction is still 100% on her terms, but we've gone from not seeing her for weeks to her being willing to be up and about when we are. Patience will hopefully help with time

One afterthought - Could you maybe give the cage more shade? We've found that if Whizz's cage is in the shade or not makes a huge difference to how likely we are to see her. Having the cage in a shady place gives her more security for some reason.

How should I shade the cage? Put a towel over part of it?

I wouldn't worry about doing it if it would be difficult. We just found out when we moved a cage to a low shelf where the shelf above blocks some artificial light. I'd not put anything touching the cage as it would a. block your view anyway, and b. risk cutting down on the amount of ventillation (or get chewed by the hams).
They will be fine either way, it was just a semi-useful side-note that we accidentally discovered really.

Well, tonight I shut off all the lights except a small reading lamp to see by, sat next to the cage very quietly and what do you know? Kousagi poked her little head up from one of her tunnel openings ( I swear she has a whole underground system going on in there by now, lol ) and she came out for a stroll, a drink, and a taste of the fresh veggies and greens I put in there earlier. I would have watched longer but my neck was vast becoming stiff as I suffer from random neck pains, and I could no longer feel my feet as they had become completely numb from the ankle down ( was sitting cross legged ).

Cool, I'm glad she did go out in the end
That does show she's just shy and hopefully she'll stop being so shy soon.
