My current girls would happily eat the hams in one bite
My cats are fine with hammies, infact once I cam home and my girl cat Rigsy came to greet me (which she doesn't normally do) and she kept walking to the bedroom miaowing, then back to me, then back the bedroom. I followed her and my hamster William was out of his cage! She didn't hurt him, she came to tell me what she found!

What a great picture. Years ago, one of my cats used to be friendly with one of my dwarf hamsters when the ham was out of the cage and would never hurt him.

Re: your ham and other animals
I can't comment with my current hams, but when I had a hamster when I lived with my sister and her 2 cats, one of the cats didn't care but the other cat, I wouldn't say hated him, but certainly didn't like him either!
I'd regularly find him sat on top of his cage! I also accidentally left my bedroom door open whilst just nipping into the next room and before I knew it I heard a huge crash, ran back in to find the cat had pulled the cage off the side! luckily the top half of the cage landed over the ham so the cat couldn't get to him and he also couldn't run away

She was only 4 she was running and fell and broke her back, last October (my birthday of all days). There was nothing that could be done for her.

Re: your ham and other animals
Such a gorgeous picture, I am sorry to hear they are both departed. What a lovely little friendship
Olicat made it clear he was terrified of hamsters before he moved in. My now-housemate brought him for a visit to see how he got on with the flat, and if it would be an issue with me having a hamster. Oli was terrified of Chewy . Bless him!
Fur-nando and Oli show each other some level of interest, but they mostly just ignore each other. They share the room in the daytime, and I am here in the evening, when Fur-nando is up and about and all interesting. Sometimes Oli will sit and watch 'nando, and a couple of times I have caught him sat on his cage. This is why Fur-nando's cage had a heap of stuff piled on top of it, as I fear Olicat would get a nasty nip!
When 'nando is in his ball, his curiosity leads him to follow Olicat around, and olicat does not like it one bit. He runs away. If 'nando touches Oli in his ball, Oli legs it out the room. Fur-nando's home is a tank, bought for Oli moving in, and in a position so that it cannot be moved by Oli.
So while I feel they get along OK, they aren't totally cool with each other, and I watch them accordingly, and am very, very careful. Although it would be totally cute if they got along hehe.
