Hamster won't leave the wheel

I say about the last 2 weeks she hardly leaves the wheel. She does leave it to get food and water but then goes right back. She use to dig in the carefresh and go in either of her house. lately it just seems like every time i look in her tank she is in the wheel. it has gotten to the point where my husband has been cleaning the wheel every night b/c within 24 hours its completely covered in poop. I just want to make sure she is ok and happy. my husband says she seems to be like a ditzy blonde

Is she constantly running or just sitting in it?

Sitting in it. She does run at night but during the day it's all sitting and sleeping mostly

mmmmmmmmmm how bizzarre. I would add something completely new, maybe a new sand bath or a tunnel.Or another wheel!

one of my dwarves Nougi did this for a bit they just become utterly transfixed by the wheel, I got a house and shredded paper in it for bedding and put food inside taking out the wheel for a bit and she soon got into the hang of sleeping in there.
