Default Can a hamster sit too much?

So, my partner got me to go onto adobe connect last night (it's a bit like skype) and I was greeted with the very welcome image of Fudge! He's about a year old now and he's mellowed out a bit, he doesn't stress out in new places now which is especially good. We also worried for a while that he was getting podgy, but it turns out mostly it's just difficult to tell with all that fluff
Anyway, that's a bit off topic, he was in the sitting room using my partner as a runway and when he turned around I was a little shocked to see a funny patch of fur which was dark grey and looked a bit odd on his lower back/ bumbum. Because of the low quality I couldn't see very well so I asked what was going on and I was told that it was a patch where he had less fur and that he suspected it was from where he was sitting down. This sounds pretty plausible to me as Fudge is lazy lazy lazy.
I've tried giving him lots to do but he's just not interested, but if he's sitting around so much he's gotten a bit of fur worn down should I be worried? Also, is it possible there's something else causing this? He doesn't seem to have any irritation or clean excessively so I don't think it's a parasite or anything, it's so localised I can't really think of any other explanation...
Cheers!

Cooper is just over a year old and he has similar fur loss and I know quite a few other hammies here have it too. It's most likely just age related.

Hehe, oh I am glad, I was a bit alarmed as it wasn't there when I left home but he seems totally happy and chilled
