fighting robos....
I have two robos who are about 6 months old. Last week we bought them a new cage (ferplast kios) to replace the rotastak which was not really suitable for them. Since they have moved, they seem to be fighting a lot, and squeaking at each other. They have two of everything, so I'm not really sure what else I can do? Should they be separated if they are really going for each other all the time?

Re: fighting robos....
It will be the change of cage that has caused the upset. They will have lost their scent and now both are mature they will be fighting to establish territory in the new set up.
It can really end up badly with serious injuries so you need to watch them closely and if in doubt separate.
There is some good info on Tammy's site so read that and I'm sure she would be happy to help if you PM her.

Re: fighting robos....
Thanks for the info. Will keep a close eye on them and see what happens, hopefully it will settle down?
I thought buying a new cage would be exciting for them, I didn't expect them to be scrapping over it.

Re: fighting robos....
Just keep a close eye on them. Are they drawing blood? If they are then you should think about seperating them.

Re: fighting robos....
Thanks all. We did put some old bedding in the new cage, and perhaps could put some of the tubes from the old cage as they will all have their scent on. Hopefully now they have been in their new home for almost a week they will start to settle and go back to being friends again.
Thanks everyone!!

Re: fighting robos....
We had to seperate them this morning. I am totally gutted. I thought it had calmed down as we had been watching them closely but it got really bad this morning and they would not stop fighting.
Feel like I am to blame somewhat for getting them a new cage without thinking it through properly.

Awww, you did the right thing, it's a hard decision to make but it's for the best. It's not your fault.
