Thank you, I will have to try that. I never had dwarf hamster before, only Syrians that are quite easier to tame, and tried the different tactics that I read on the internet. As I said, Carly was not too bad at first, but now she freaks a bit. I separated them a few weeks ago, so maybe that might help a bit too. They love "hanging out" with me though, even if they are still in their cages or balls, and seem to like my singing Christmas tunes! *sheepish grin*

I have to say that Rusty has been getting better. It's taking time but he's getting used to me. He walks on to my hand now and doesn't seem to mind when I pick him up.

He has been using one of his cardboard tubes for a toilet, which is a pain. Not sure how to get him out of that habit, other than remove the tube. I don't think he'd do it with the other one as he nests in it. Not sure how to get him to use the toilet tray.

Glad that he is getting a bit better

As for the toilet issues, try putting the potty where the tube currently is, put a little of the soiled cardboard in the potty, so that it smells the same and see how he goes.
