Default Daisy has begun squeaking!

She seems perfectly fine in every way, she's eating and drinking and playing as normal. I have known her hiss in temper when she was in her original cage and couldn't bite through the bars but she's not a squeaky hamster at all usually. She's about 7 months old now.

This morning, she came out and greeted us as usual and then went back to bed, we were say here quietly and suddenly we heard a few sharp squeak noises just before this she did her usual breathing noise (she usually does when she is in her bed with nose out trying to smell for any new treats).

My husband when over to her cage (Daisy adores my husband) and he spoke to her until she came out, she seemed fine. We put her in her play pen for a while and she was playing happily. We put her back in her cage and she went straight to bed quietly. I was home for a while after and all was fine, went out for an hour, came back and she squeaked again, not as loud. I went over to talk to her, she didn't come out (I'm not as adored as my husband for some reason lol) I left her alone and a short while later she came out used her potty and went back to bed, she's been silent ever since.

So what I'd like to know is, can a hamster suddenly become a noisy one for no reason? Could she have been squeaking in temper (she can get moody if she can't move something around the cage or get something as she wants)

Instinct tells me she is fine as she's behaving normally in all other ways, but just wondering if anyone has had this or has any advice, thanks in advance.

It's been ages since I've been here so here are a Daisy pic, our chunky monkey lol

Maybe she's just becoming a vocal hamster? My Bob makes noises at me when he wants to come out or when he's a bit annoyed because I've put him back in the cage when he still wants to play ^^
Is it squeaking like squeaking or squeaking like sneezing? She might have caught a cold off one of you.

Thank you for your replies.

She hasn't done it again today since I posted this message, neither of us have had colds and we don't get many visitors at all, and no recent ones have had colds either. It is getting colder in temperature though, she's in a glass rodent cage so no breezy bars to let in draught and she's not near windows but I do feel she's finding it colder as she is gathering more sawdust. I've put in extra bedding recently, I wonder if perhaps she's squeaking as she's cold?

It's also crossed my mind its attention seeking as 'Mum' or 'Dad' have both times checked she's okay!! I have visions of her in her bed chuckling to herself at the worry she causes me!!

I never use the fluffy bedding as I know some say its unsafe but I'd love to be able to ensure she is warm enough. Any tips on how to make sure a glass tank is warm enough for her?

It's not really cold enough to heat the flat yet up but as soon as it is we certainly will increase the general heating of the flat, do I need to do anything else?

my boy has suddenly started squeaking too. It may well be the weather as he has started to build up substrate by his bed even more than usual. I've given him more bedding and deeper substrate, placed him the best I can out of any drafts and put some polystyrene underneath his zoozone to try make the base a little bit warmer. Not sure it's gonna help but worth a try.
