Default Toilet training Hamsters....

I think (not 100% sure) that Pepper is now litter trained as he only goes to his tray to use the toilet (but as it the toilet is quite shallow and rounded he sometimes misses (like most men really ) but I am going to get him a different one soon.

Anyway, I currently use the Trixie litter granuals but I was wondering if there is anything I can use instead?

I was maybe thinking about sand as Pepper does like to rub and roll about in the litter so maybe sand would also help his fur?

Any ideas or tips would be welcomed. Thanks

Sand might work quite well, know my dwarfs like to pee in it.
Equally I found Porridge liked to pee on cardboard (green mile or ecobed) but you could just cut some up yourself as its only for the littertray
