Question I Want To Know...

How you'd actually describe your hamster's personalities. Sounds weird, yes but I mean there are passing comments on things they do but I'd like a sort of proper description on what your hams are actually like. Consider it research into the difference between hamsters both as species and individuals.

See Izuna-Wheatley is bossy, stubborn, it's his way or no way, he's quite the glutton, he's not as active as most hams and is usually found grooming himself in his bowl instead but he's by no means lazy just very clean.

Lady Tobi-Wheatley is very active, always digging or climbing but still clean, when she's out of her cage though she's very cuddly and very polite (by which I mean I haven't had a bite yet). She's also very quiet as opposed to Izu's trademark loud chirps for attention. She just seems a lot more reserved.

Sen is a curious explorer - to the core! She loves to escape and run away (I say run, more like waddle, she never goes fast, almost like she wants caught)! Ever determined though, she WILL climb anything she can so she can explore what other hams wouldn't even consider a real place! She is the most compliant hamster I've ever met, you can harass her in every way imaginable (my OH enjoys prodding her) and she will not bite you (unless you stick your fingers through the bars into her house while she's sleeping and surprise her - that was my fault really though). Although usually on the go, she has her quiet moments where she just stops and listens, and stays very still for ages. She even sometimes does this while being petted (these are my favourite moments). And she can be smelly sometimes (gotta hate being a girl) but it doesn't take her long after a nice run in her wheel and wee bathe in her sand, then she's happy as sunshine.

To sum up all the boys - Lazy
Bacardi - a real gentleman, very sweet natured, but occasionally catches you off guard and runs off into the distance

Treo - The cuddlemonster, hes more like a dog than a hamster, he adores human attention. But he can hold a grudge!

Squishy - always wants the spotlight and can be quite the charmer

Squirt - moody, like a hamster with PMT Occasionally shows a cute side, but always wants his own way

Rowena - A princess, definitley knows how to butter someone up. But complete mischief when she messes up her cage.

I actually notice traits of some hamsters in others, for example Roo reminds me of Treo. Squishy and Squirt remind me of my robo pair Peggy and Dot

Bailey is stubborn and refuses to do things that he doesn't want to; he's fussy and will turn his nose up at things he doesn't like. He's very shy too and makes it very clear that he's upset by squeaking.

Cooper is a gentle giant, he's a soppy thing and LOVES cuddles. He's laid back and very lazy but also stubborn and won't come out unless it's on his terms.

Oscar is very grumpy and seems to think he's alot bigger than he really is. He has little man syndrome so has to be cheeky to get noticed. He always has an angry look on his face for some reason.

I could write pages about Snickers' personality. She adored attention and would be awake all day begging for play time, she literally never slept! She'd sit on my shoulder and wait to be paraded around the room like some sort of princess while she ate my hair. She was brave and always happy, she actually had a smile on her little face. She was a trouble-maker; the cheekiest little thing and she wasn't even discreet about it. She seemed to think she was a dog, whenever she got excited she'd wag her tail and wiggle her bum so much that she couldn't walk properly. An all-round sweetheart and loveable hamster.

Sandy is bossy, always seeking attention - chubby and demanding. She wants things her way, always. It's also impossible to get her to stop being bored. She loves watching people pottering around, and loves it even more if they stop to fuss her, ad if they don't she'll scrabble at her cage sides in order to get your attention

Pillow is a little softy, he loves adventure but never chews bars etc, he likes hsving his booty scratched, has nightmares and is always prepared (read as he always runs around his cage with cheeks full of food) He used to be very shy, but since he realised that he gets floor time if he climbs on a hand, he's almost always ready to go.

Alfie is my old grandpa, he falls over, falls off his shelf and gets very upset if anybody messes with his stuff. I absolutely adore him though. He's always up for adventure and loves food that you have to pick apart (as in natural food like dari, wheat husks and millet)

Sesame is very active, always redecorating, has secret tunnels all over the place and makes a nest so dense that it can carry her body weight. She's always alert, and watching.

Just a note : Dancer is still around, but he doesn't show his personality much..and when he does it's different to the last time >.<

Ruby is very calm and cuddly on her terms only! She is very quiet but does sometimes chirp/squeak when she is exited or angry. She can be really stroppy sometimes though and run off in the other direction and be all jumpy or refuse to come out! She likes sitting all cosy on my jumper She is determined and if she gets her paws onto something she shouldnt (headphones -.-) she will hang onto it until I pull it from her! I wouldnt change her at all though

Chi'la is calm and passive.Shes fairly laidback and always seems relaxed.Nothing seems to phase her and I dont know if its just her old age but shes fairly lazy and dosnt play much. She's not curious when she's in the cage but outside she loves to run around and explore.Chi'la likes to climb her bars on the cage and roll her wheel when she's sitting on her hammock/second level.Chi'la dosnt mind it when I scruff in her cage, and if Chi'la gets upset,a treat stick can make it all better!!!Chi'la likes to lay on her back for belly rubs and sleep in mommy's shirt against her warm skin.

Evie knows what she wants and is going to get it. When she first saw me at the shop, she meerkated at me, and made cute faces until I had to get the door opened. She then touched my hand, moved away, touched my hand again, and then walked onto my hand. When I walked away, she was meerkating, and the guy at the store said, "Oh my, she's saying, where are you going?!" At home, she doesn't hesitate to get in the ball the moment it's presented. Once in, she zooms around. She's not timid, but more highly strung - she's quite vocal and squeaked when she was angry/scared. I've worked out that little weird sound she does isn't a sniff, but actually a chip/hrrp. She makes that noise when she's irritated, has reached a wall she can't pass etc, has discovered a new thing. She's very determined, and will scratch and bite her way through things. She's quite greedy, in that she picks up all food, but doesn't eat it all. She's also pretty active and likes climbing around.

Hamchan is very active and demanding. He wants to be out of his cage constantly - the moment he hears me pass, he will monkey bar and bar-chew to get my attention. He doesn't seem to tire much, he likes to run and climb, and will work out how to bounce from one thing to another to scale objects. He is quite fearless and falls a lot, but gets right back up and does it again. He was a bit jumpy at first, and sometimes freezes when he's heard something he's not sure about. But he is absolutely sweet natured, no matter if he's received a shock or teased or just woken up. He's very gentle when he takes food from my fingers, and likes to ride up on my shoulder to scan the room. He's not hugely interested in food, except for tofu.

Carrot loves to chew! She'll chew anything and everything in sight including fingers. She does bite, especially when you put your hand in her cage. Once she's out she loves to explore with her sisters and crawl all over me. She's really good at stealing food from me as well.

Caramel is lazy and tries to sleep all the time. Her sisters will have been up for hours and she's still lounging in bed. She's very sweet though and will sit on your lap very still occasionally.

Mocha is a loon. She's constantly moving and squirming out of my hands. From day one I got her she's never sat still. I'm surprised her wheel hasn't caught fire from her constantly running in it. She'll literally jump right into her ball for play time and runs away when I try to put her back.

Joe is very adventurous and never learns from his mistakes. He is very shy with other people and a new person when with his mother (me ) Half the time when being handled, he is very still and alert, the other half of the time he is a monkey chasing a boomerange. Enoth said.
