Default Re: moving bedding

Is she moving up into the penthouse bit? the top bit is badly ventilated, have you tried just removing the tube?
I'd also add another extension to it.. but I think a lot of hamsters block themselves into badly ventilated places causing their human mummys to worry.

If you want to get her a new cage, you could..I'm just wondering if removing it would be an option

Smile Re: moving bedding

Hi!
I have this cage for my hammie Biscuit too, and I removed the tubes and replaced them with the wooden ladders/ramps that you can buy from Zooplus. I thought it looked nicer, and was also a bit worried about her getting stuck in the tubes.
Hope this helps

yes thanx that would help but i think im just going to get her a new cage as i feel bad for her not having a very big cage and that cage brings back too many memories of my old hammie Lola and every time i go near the cage i call her Lola as she only ever had that cage so i cant call her anything but that, but thanx for the help anyway xx

Our hamster just did this for the first time.... moved all the bedding up into the penthouse portion of his cage. I guess it is cozier in there.

My roberto has done this for the first time. I moved him onto his new cage and the first 2 days was fine sleept in his Igloo house. On Wedneday though he suddenly moved all his bedding from the Igloo, spunik, from another little house and food onto the cage's penthouse. I didn't touch his Igloo house so don't understand why he's done this... In any case he's now sleeping in the penthouse where by the way is more exposed and has an open area...
