Hmm my hamster does stand on its hind legs and scratches wildly at the plastic box its in... and does that while running wildly around ..
and it tries to 'fly'/ jumping onto the cage top and tries to hang from it before falling down.. i often think it's rabids.. or crazy.. lol..
but i think its just energetic & needs its exercise ball

Ah the ball. She hates it! Haha! I have tried her in that and she looks at me cross when I let her out. She also thinks she can fly! I still need to do the video! Been mega busy!
