ok, now shes waking up earlier, and won't get off her wodent wheel!
Cleaned her cage out today (put the whole thing in empty bath) and she let me stroke her. Also seems that she'll do anything for Heinz baby food - she held the teaspoon and came straight over for it

taming is going well, she has climbed onto my hand, and today up my arm - only to try and get out of the cage, but you know
I've put her in her ball, and then lost her to find she had gone across the kitchen, out the door, up the hallway and under the airer

Luckily my apartment is ground floor, open plan and smooth flooring so it must be hammy heaven

Awww, sounds great fun and she seems to be warming up to you ... My robo is quite nervous but food always wins out in the end ... a sunflower seeds seems to do the trick for me

Sounds like it is going very well and she is becoming firm friends

I always tamed my rodents by offering them treats from my hand for a few days, then after that waiting until they went into a toilet roll tube and lifting it out. I held it a little away from the cage door and used my other hand to make a bridge across, so that they'd walk on my hand without even realising! Then I'd gradually increase the amount of time they spent on my hand, and soon they were crawling everywhere!

Seems to be a nice way to do it because it's never stressed them out or scared them too much

hm Daisy is a very bright little hamster. Heard a weird noise while I'm watching tv, and crept over to check. Found her hanging UPSIDE down from the bars at the top of her cage and climbing across them. I think she wants her new Hamster Heaven.......

I also hammy proofed the kitchen for her to run round in. Or so I thought. Turned my back and she was sitting on top of the huge barricade meant to keep her in *sigh*

how small a gap can they fit through? cos my apartment has one massive hallway with just doors, so if I shut all the doors the only gaps will be at the bottom of the doors. They're tiny - I can just fit the tip of my little finge runder them - would she be ok?

my way of getting them used to me is scooping them up in a box(!), and putting the lil thing on an arm chair, with no gaps!!, and keep touching their back til they stop eeeking at me.. then try to pick em up, they will wee a lot tho.. i do this for ages. most times i have them in my hand within a short time, some times they go to sleep!! (have some tcp ready!) feeding them when they are out of the cage is good for them.. "oo, if i come out, i may get some nice food". they probably think this!! lol- good luck..
