Question Poo + food = not good?

I have just become the owner of a lovely new hamster Louie less than a week ago and I have already noticed some strange behavior. Like all hamsters, after eating some of his food Louie will go away to his little food corner where he stores his food, but just yesterday i saw him do a very obscure thing indeed. Louie did a poo and bent down and took it out of his bum with his mouth going on to flick it over into his food corner.

I read in one of my Hamster books that hamster can eat their feaces and that it is called coprophagy but i have also noticed him peeing in his food corner so I a bit stuck as to what I should do.

Please help me and tell me if this is normal behavior or if I have to stop it.

Thank you. : )

Oh yes!! Nothing to worry about at all, just one of many of the charming habits of our lovely furry friends! No need to get him to stop, its perfectly normal.

Pootang used to poo in his house then collect them and flick them out of the window and door.So there would be a little pile of poops outside.

Snickers does this, she leaves it outside the door of her house for me to clean up. :/ Lazy ham can't even walk to the litter bowl. haha
