Thanks guys! Those of you who have/had Syrians how did you go about taming them? Or not much different from other hammies?
John put his hand at the cage door last night and kept it still & just let Fudge sniff him.
He was so cute as he would sniff then jump back. :)

It's the same as most hammys, just take it slowly.. Even tho it's hard! :)

Hi Mel, Yeah Fudge is his first. :) We are both pretty new to hammies, John got Gizmo July last year. Pip was bought May 16th & I got Huxley May 17th this year.
So from none to four in a year! :)

I love them I think they are amazing pets.

It was really weird going from robos for 2 years then getting Porridge :D
Yh i've gone from starting this year with one, to 3 and i'm hoping to get a fourth by the end ;)
Well 3 spare cages can't stay like that forever can they x

Great news. Fudge had his first outing in the Playpen tonight. He also had a go in his ball & enjoyed it. He is still a bit jumpy/nervous but pleased John managed to get him out.
However I noticed there was a lot of his poo on the floor near his cage today. Well tonight I caught him in the act, he was picking it up and chucking it out from the top level! None of the others do this. :)
