Great photos of Meerkatting hamsters :-) Ria P you have loads of meerkatting hamsters! I especially like seeing the dwarf ones as I didn't actually know dwarf hamsters meerkatted until you mentioned it.

Congratulations on embedding Ria! Once you get the hang of it it's quite easy :-) It's the resizing I find a fiddle - until you get the hang of that too!

Baby meerkat Rory who grew into a handsome natural poser we nicknamed Glamour boy. Haven't seen him meerkatting for a while but at 2yrs 3mths he'd probably nod off standing on his back legs.53518

Cupcake's meerkatting has always been a negative sign, and seems she was scared of a new noise or item. She's done it twice, once when fireworks scared her, and the other when she didn't like the new wheel. Here she runs over and does it on purpose to show me she doesn't like it: Not what I expected (https://streamable.com/sk0y4n)

Ooh yes Gordon is almost meerkatting isn't he? Maybe Robos do then - I assumed they were too round and would fall over :-). I've definitely seen Pip with paws up a bit like that.

By the way I have just seen something I've never seen before on this forum - not sure if anyone else has noticed, but at the top of the thread my mouse moved over "rate this thread" and a window opened. It is also why I got the felted standing version of Moonbeam, as no other of my hamsters has ever meerkated as much as she did.

Not hamsters but - meerkating meerkats :-) From the lakes wildlife park today. Noticed one would sit meetkatting and looking up and the others didn’t. Apparently that’s because one is always a lookout for predators from above and stands sentinel. While the others are looking very chilled - splayed out :-)53533

Made me laugh too. One of them was sitting there meerkatting and looking up - the others look lazy as heck! Assume they either take it in turns to be on watch or the most junior is delegated!

Thank you. Can hardly believe we’ve had him 8 months. He’s still not keen on being carried anywhere but loves his travel jug and he’s super cheeky, so yes scheming he is :)

One evening he climbed onto the shoebox in the playpen and made a jump for it over the sides, he didn’t quite make it but he’s always on the look out for his next try :)
