When my hamster (Eleanor 6 months, syrian female) wakes up, the first thing she does is groomer herself for a while and I don't know if she's doing it too much... What does over-accessive grooming look like?

My hamster (male hybrid) has a long grooming session in the evening. It is quite funny to watch, especially leaking end paw and cleaning his ear (three times left, three times right ear).
I think maybe they want to ged rid of sawdust particles from they fur (after hours of sleep).

All my hamsters have always washed after waking up….before eating….after eating….on the wheel, just about everywhere! Grooming isn’t really concern so long as it’s not scratching, rubbing up against things. These aren’t necessarily bad thing either but scratching a lot could be a sign that they have fleas or mites. Rubbing up against things can be a sign of over scent marking. Grooming is never really an issue unless fur is being lost or something obvious.
