Please welcome the first Custard litter for a while! Thanks to Sarah at Midnight Stud for allowing her beautiful LH REC Rex Sunset to come and stay for a liaison with our LH Cinnamon Bru. As Bru carries rex and cream, we're expecting LH RECs and Cinnamons, with half rex
Sunset did confuse a little as she didn't put on much weight until about the last two days when she suddenly looked like she swallowed a tennis ball.
The Sunbrus had arrived this morning when we got up, but as she has built a mountainous nest under the shelf it's not too easy to see them. Souffle did get a glance of one which waved its paw at her, so obviously they've inherited the Pawaver gene. I also managed to see them when I came in from school and Sunset was out getting porridge, and there looks to be at least 4

This is so exciting. I can't wait to see this little family grow. They will be surely gorgeous with such a great history. The line is stunning and they have the most wonderful faces with beautiful temprement. Congratulations to the custards :-)

OMG i always love looking at your hamsters' pictures.

i'm not sure if i said it before, but bru has such a sweet and beautiful face, and i really mean it. i love his chubbiness, fur color and his short ears. i think i fell in love HEHE :D i want him!!
he's become one of my favorite long haired hamsters. of course, my LHs are my #1 lol

The Sunbrus are doing very well. They are now 6 days old and looking very wiggly and you can start to see their fur coming through. Some look to be cinnamon and some cream. Sunset is being a great mum and is very attentive.
The nest is a bit more open now and we can see them. Still not sure how many there are but probably 8-10.
Their eyes should open at around 14-16days and we will post pics then as we must abide by forum rules.

The Sunbrus are coming on very well and their eyes are starting to just open now. They have little slitty eyes at the moment :)
There are 10 pups, 4 Cinnamons and 6 creams and about 6 of them are rex coats.
They are so adorable as they are trundling round the cage now and eating mountains of food. When you put the porridge in the all crowd round the dish and look like a baby hamster flower :) (Except for the cream who paddles in it LOL)
Won't be long till we can introduce them :)

At long last we can introduce the Sunbrus as they all have there eyes open now and their ears are starting to push up too. They are a very busy bunch and come out like an avalanche when they hear the food bowl coming :)
There are 3 Cinnamon rex and 4 cream rex so more rexes than normal coats. The rexes are the ones with the wavy coats and they will be the colour of mum when they are older. Their eyes will also darken like hers.

The beautiful Sunbrus are doing very well and we have started to handle them now. They need to grow into their ears a bit as they are all standing up now :LOL:
We have sexed them and actually have 5 males and 5 females.
Males : 2 REC normal coats, 2 Cinnamon Rex, 1 REC Rex
Females : 1 Cinnamon normal coat, 1 Cinnamon rex, 3 REC rex.
A few are developing characters and names (fatal). A couple are smaller but not runty small.

I am on the look out for a suitable male to mate with Flora in the near future, although golden her ped is cinny. I am looking for my own breed cinnys to show :) She is 11 weeks this week, so still a while yet!!

Louise the Sunbrus will not be old enough at Otley. I am not sure which are available as yet as we have a reservation list and of course the mother's breeder and ourselves will have first choice, then the people who have reserved so we cannot say at the moment. They do all carry cinnamon however as the red eyed creams will be ppee.

The Sunbrus have left their mum! They were 4 weeks last night so it is time for all young hamsters to set up home in their single sex apartments.
The six girls have moved into a Zoozone and the 4 boys into a Gabber rex with plenty toys but no wheels as yet. They are all (except little Mattie) around 80g so a good enough size. They have trashed their cages already and instead of sleeping in the nice bed boxes have camped out in a conrner! It is a bit sad to see them apart from Sunset but she deserves a rest and seemed pleased to have her wheel back.

All our hamsters have bobble hat bottle covers. At a certain time of year when you buy a small Innocent smoothie the bottles have a little hat each and a proportion of the money goes to help the aged charity.
Sometimes the hamsters try one on!!
