Besides Luciano, three lovely ladies reside here at the moment.

Born on April 12, 2017, Bayou came from a breeder. After she had her first litter of 16-15 survived-the breeder decided to retire her. I came in after seeing her advertising online. Mother seemed done with her brood. She climbed in my hands and it was settled then, Bayou came home with me.

She's a very calm, sociable Syrian. When's she awake and she hears me calling her nicname "Muppet" she stops with whatever she's doing and listens very closely. Or when playtime is over, I call her name and she comes to the playpen door to be picked up. Typical traits: She dug her house in. Once I was worried because I hadn't seen or heard from her in two days. So I dug her out and...she was sleepy. After checking in on her, Bayou immediatly set to work, and burried everything again.

She comes at ten in the evening and most nights she want's to be out and about. But sometimes she just want's to be left alone and amuse herself in her cage. She's the most calm of the females here, alongside Jazz. She seems to be a "Rust" colored Syrian. At least, that's what the breeder called it.

Jazz is also from 2017, and was born on april 23. The largest female here, very calm and hasn't bitten before. Her breeder sadly only ever had one litter, but made the babies really social towards humans.
Jazz belonged to a person who needed a bit of help with caring for her, but otherwise absolutely adored her. Then came the day her father no longer wanted to help her, so she posted Jazz on a Dutch forum. I offered to take her in and here she is now! Sometimes I send tiny updates on how Jazz is doing to her former human.

She loves being out and about and she's the only ham I wake up at around 8 in the evening. That way she can run about for an hour or two before the others come.

Ray is the third and last one. Born roughly at the tail end of 2017, she's one of the few petshop hamsters I ever owned. A frantic bar climbing and biting Robo was in the cage beside her. And Ray herself awake and curious. The pet shop was tiny and sold hamsters with cage and all. Ofcourse none of the cages were even remotely good. At first I didn't want to take her with me, but at the end of the shopping trip I came back and picked her up.
Safely holed up in a carrier, she traveled home with me on train and then a twenty minute walk home.

She's alert, has the habit of sitting up and just staring/listening. In the beginning she was a bit jumpy and has made two or three random attempts to jump from my hand. Also loves running in the play pen and has become a bit calmer. She's also the most dramatic of the three.
She will climb in to a corner and stare at me, sometimes bar chewing. She only does this when she wants to go out. She also likes to take the harder way to the cage door. Instead of climbing down and walk around her wheel, she likes to climb behind it and on my hand.

I don't have a favorite out of the three, but I guess my favorite thing about each one individually: I love Ray's personality, so alert but still social. I love Jazz' fur pattern and how big and mellow she is. I love how Bayou can look derpy and that sometimes she hesitates between "Do I want playpen time or cage....both? No cage...wait playpen!"

They love their playpen.

At the moment, Jazz is out and about. She likes to make 'music' by chewing on the mesh in one spot. She does this for a few seconds and then goes back to playing.
She also likes to rearrange the smaller and paper items in it.

Bayou enjoys scatterfeeding in the playpen. When she's al filled up, she climbs the stairs and waits for me to come and fetch her. After dumping her first load of food, she likes to repeat this for a few times.

Ray seems to become more relaxed with aged. She's filled out rather nicely, I noticed. She was rather thin when I first got her. While not really planned to take home, I don't regret the day I got her.
