Sorry if this is a dark or distressing question but my first two hamsters are now 2 and a half years old (syrian) and 2 years old (dwarf) and I was thinking about what im supposed to do when they pass. I would absolutely not want to dispose of them in the bin, I would feel so awful because they mean a lot to me but i live in a flat so i have no garden to bury them in and my mum would never let me bury them in hers. What do I do when it happens? :(

I buried mine in the nearby park. Just need to find a quiet spot and do it quickly. Also, put some stones on top of the grave, so that the dogs couldn’t dig it out.

Also, I know some people bury their hammies in potted plants.

I do the same as Burakki. I burried my ham in a park overlooking it.

Hello FBM. This can be a tricky situation. My daughter was living in a rented flat until recently. She had 4 hammies in her times there. We buried all 4, one by one, in a decent sized pot with rose bush in it. Each time we lifted the plant and added another furry. We have a garden but she did not want to bury them here. She wanted them with her once she had her permanent home. The pot went to her only this summer.
Perhaps your mother would have a pot like that outside in her garden while you can't.
This gave me the idea to do the same. I have one pot for each hamster and if we ever move, after 30 years here! - then my boys can come with me. Only my daughter's childhood pets would be left behind but that was a long time ago now.
