Hi everyone! I thought I'd introduce myself, and my hamster here before diving straight into the forums.
I just joined hamster central in order to ask a question regarding my hamster's recent behaviour, but I'll save that for the topic I make later.
My name is Sophie, I'm from London and I live with my wonderful boyfriend and even more wonderful Syrian hamster Oscar. Oscar was given to me as a Christmas gift in 2016 after I looked after the hamster of a family friend when they went on holiday.
During the time I looked after their hamster, I felt bad for their small cage, lack of socialisation and general unhappiness, which lead me to do a lot of research on hamsters so that I could give her the happiest stay whilst I looked after her for ten days. I guess as a result, my parents got me a small brown Syrian hamster for Christmas. I was sceptical at first because I knew I was moving into my own place shortly after I turned 18 but we're one big happy family now, and Oscar is living in a very large cage we made for him. He was born in October 2016 so he's about a year and 3 months old now.
I've attached a couple of pictures of him here, he really does mean the world to me and I had no idea I was going to become a hamster-obsessed adult but I've learnt to love it. ;)
