Yeah!! I have dwarfies again! I don't have any pictures as of yet but as soon as I get some I will post them here. My mates coming up with his digital camera so hopefully I can get a few.

Willow & Heather are both from Babyboos Hamstery :D (plug)

Willow is a Normal female Winter White, she is perfect and even though she seems to have a war wound of half an ear, she's really cute and very fluffy!!

Heather is a Normal crossed with Orange so is a very nice grey like colour (you'll see it better in the photographs), she's just so cute and fluffy too!!

I am so glad to have dwarfies again and I'm so keen to learn as much as I can about these girls.

oh congratulations!! I have to say I do love my Winter Whites I do feel they are friendlier than my Campbell's. I really want to see the pictures especially of the Normal crossed with Mandarin!

just tell the other little one that scars get all the chicks, and the attention and titbit's :P

heh to me it's all the same :P shows how much I am not taking in :P

there is nothing like the feel of a Winter White or Campbells, they are just so soft and fluffy like a Chinchilla. I could sit stroking them all day, especially my Winter Whites. They are just so friendly, with their adorable faces....sorry I must go and get a hamster to hold. :P

I really can't wait to see your new ones, welcome back to dwarf ownership. I hope it goes well for you, you seem to have a great pair (how could they be anything else when they are from babyboos :P) enjoy them

There is something really unique about the coat of a Russian dwarf hamster and the Winter White especially. Like you say they are hypnotic you can stroke them for ages, so thick and fluffy. Thankfully they are not prone to shedding like the Chinchilla or I wouldn't be able to have them as I am allergic to the fine Chinchilla fur

One weird thing too is they are always warm to the touch - I often think I have cold hands when I pick them up but I don't they are just like little hot buns.

Interested to see how the colour on the Orange / Normal combination develops, it is noticeably different from the "pure bred" Normal colour. These guys (or girls I should more rightly say  ) have the same daddy, a pedigree Normal from wild caught stock, so the Normal girl is lovely and dark and her mummy won second place in the Edinburgh Hamsoc show  She may well have got a first but was a little young and therefore smaller than now. BUT at Sheffield she got first in the Winter White Class

you should see the envious look on my face!!

Ii have to admit of the dwarves I really would like to get more Winter Whites. If I ever get the room I will breed up a room full... then stop, and ban Dave from the room :P

I feel a bit wierd that I never noticed she only has one ear flap though - I really have no idea when it went  That is awful of me  She is so nice and tame because I handle them every day and you would have thought I would have noticed something like that wouldn't you :? Debs said something wasn't quite right and I thought it was just folded back as my hamsters generally do have laid back ears (a sign of contentment), but no there is definitely no flap on one side :!:

awwww bless, I personally always worry about a hamster with scars (Si still gets special treatment and Mrs Whitlow too as she has a dogdy eye) but Dave chose Shadow out of a big tank of hamsters when we first went to get one and why? two reasons, 1) 'he' (yes they had her in a tank of males) was the only one trying to escape, and 2) there was a chunk of ear missing. For some reason this to Dave meant that this was the perfect hamster for him. So babyboos, maybe you are missning out on a market of boys/men who want a rogue looking hamster. It's great to see you so happy about your new little ones, and I personally really can't wait for the pictures, really I got all excited just thinking of it :P
