Ive had so much help and advice on here and its helped me so much already however I had one more problem.

My ham has now got a lovely glass cage but she still makes lots of noise at night. There is an air vent wheel on the side (which has no purpose because the whole top of the cage is wire) and she chews it all night and it is too noisy.

I've tried putting chews and cardboard around it but she ignores them and continues to chew.

She just makes so much noise and her cage is in my room so it affects me sleeping! Is there any advice to keeping them quieter at night??
( I've been putting her in her ball for 30 mins before i go to sleep but it only keeps her quiet for a while after)

Can you just block off the hole so there's nothing there to chew? If it's plastic she's chewing that might be the safest thing, sometimes they just get into the habit of chewing something just because it's there & they can so the only option really is to remove the temptation somehow.

I'd find another room to put her in if you can. Hopefully you can find a solution. Must be frustrating.

I bought a second hand perfecto tank where the plastic vent had been removed and a square of glass had been used to cover the hole on the inside, using aquarium sealant to 'glue' it on. This works well! I also have a Perfecto with the vent and agree it's very noisy now I've moved a Syrian into the tank.
