Hello everyone, first time poster here. I have two female Robos who have just turned one & from the same litter. They always quabbled a bit but nothing serious until Friday when I came down in the morning and they'd obviously had a bad fight overnight. One was looking very traumatised and had been bleeding. I think the other had bitten her on the leg as she was hobbling around. Luckily I had two cages linked together so were able to separate them immediatley and have no plans to put them back together.

However now their behaviour has completely changed & they spend all their time asleep or just inactive. They are eating & drinking fine. Haribo, the one who did the biting, has always been particulary fiesty & active but I've not seen her on her wheel since. They've hardly moved all weekend & I was awake in the lounge with them til 1.00am last night. Normally I have to put the subtitles on the Tele at 9 because they are so loud! Stittles, the one who was bitten now physically appears fine. Are they just adjusting to being on their own? They look perfectly happy & alert but seem to have had a complete personality transplant!

I'm a first time owner so thoughts/ suggestions welcome.

Thanks

Hi Tekapo and welcome to the forum!
Glad you separated them.
It could be they miss each other, but please don't put them back together.
It could be that they're still adjusting to the single life. It's only been 2 days.
Has Stittles injuries healed? What about Haribo?
Keep a close eye on them over the next 24 - 48 hours.

Hi & welcome Tekapo
I agree you've done the right thing separating them, they have lived together for quite some time now if they're 1yr old so it will probably take them a while to adjust to living alone, it's very early days yet so I wouldn't worry about it, just give them some time & they should be fine.

Thank you for your replies, I checked Skittles over yesterday and she seems to be healing fine. She's still quieter & less active than usual but moving around, eating & drinking fine. Haribo seemed back to normal this morning so I'll just keep an eye on them now. Must be strange being apart for the first time every. Thanks again :-D

They'll soon adjust to single life.

Good to hear they are beginning to adjust, it must be strange for them but I'm sure it won't be long before they begin to really enjoy their separate lives!
