I have two female Roborovski hamsters living together. They are mother and daughter. Been together since she was born in June.

I cleaned out their cage about 2 hours ago, they both looked healthy and fine. I just went to check on them and the mother has blood on her bottom and a wound above her tail. I can only presume the other hamster has bitten her. I have separated them now. Do i need to clean the wound and what with?

seperating them is for the best, they will now have to live apart.

if it seems clean leave it be, you dont really want to get your little one wet, as drying it can be fiddly. just make sure she has lots of water, maybe some baby food or soya milk soaked bread so she can regain some fluid from any blood loss?

i am sure osmeone here will know more, maybe put it in the robo section too :P

my boys decided to pick on each other, so i have a bitten bottom hammie living in my bedroom on watch so i can see how it does.

i didnt clean him but then he was barly cut, more just missing fur.
