Lately Cheeto, my Syrian, has been becoming a little less active, and not coming out of her house. I am worried, because my last Syrian, Fidget, started doing this about a week before he died of wet tail. Is it just the season, is it relevant, what should I do? If it helps, she is blind in one eye.

PLEASE you know this means a lot to me...

I'm new to hamsters so I'm not much help but of it's for more than a day or so have you checked him over?

How old is she? Is she eating/drinking normally? She may be going into hibernation because of the season if she feels it is too cold so for now make sure she has plenty of extra bedding!

She's drinking a fair bit less, hoarding a fair bit more, from what I guess she's about 4.5-5 months, though she seems to have sensed the excitement of a new bin cage and got up, she is lively crawling all over me. I keep the temp around her cage at exactly 23 Celsius, (70 Fahrenheit) and spoil her with bedding.

Seems more active, actually, I think the issue is just that I'm being a worrywart.

It's very easy to worry when a ham's behaviour changes, as we're so used to their routines. If they start acting differently the immediate thought is "what's wrong?" ... sometimes they just want to be lazy for a few days :)
