For several months (so I know it's not cos it's colder) I haven't seen pasta use his wheel even when I've stayed up all night an hrs awake. It's not too small it's the 11" one from PAH. Past just seems to want to eat. Do any of your hamsters do this ? He was born December last year not sure what day

I'm not sure but what you're describing is lethargy. Could Pasta be overweight? My hammy got very chubby (fat really) and he stopped being active. I put him on a diet and he lost the weight gradually. That made a big difference to his activity level.

Could this be a possible cause? I'd also do a general health check on him.

He's defo not fat. Head around 165g I think. He is generally quite lazy.

My syrian is quite a lazy ham and he uses his wheel once in a while. Did Pasta used to use his wheel a lot more before and now he's not or has he always not used it often? If it's the latter, I wouldn't worry.

Sometimes when the wheel is new they use it a lot more then get a bit bored of it.

He used to use it a lot. I think he does still every now an then but not anymore

That is strange. Is the room where he is fairly warm. I'd keep it at 20 degrees or more during playtime, if you can. Once the temp dips to the teens they tend to slow down a bit.

I think you should give him a health check as well but it could be that he's just being lazy. If you have a different wheel I'd put it outside his cage and see if he gets interested in that. It might just have been a novelty factor when you first got it.
