Does anyone have any funny hamster stories? :-D

Zoe certainly gives me a laugh a day! :lol:

Now I like hiding her food as it makes it more interesting for her and keeps her busy for a bit. I get these dog rice bones for my rodents to help keep their teeth trim but they all get so very exited when they have them. I hid Zoes under loads of sawdust and thought I'd hidden it quite well but as soon as I put Zoe back she found it straight away. This bone is a quarter of her body weight and she dragged it off through the tunnel into the other section of her rotastak and tried to take it up the tube to her bedroom. She continued to do this all night and when I got up she was still up doing the same thing but had just managed to gnaw the bone in half and take half of it up the tube. She was doing a victory run in her wheel with her trophy in her mouth when I found her. Then she took it in the attic to nibble on. She looked really tired. She's so flipping determined :D

Really? A lot of people say bad things about Rotastak and if it's not set up right for the type of animal you have in there, not enough components and too many tubes I can see what they're moaning about. But I've had mice, gerbils and hamsters in Rotastak and they all seem really happy I wouldn't use anything else. I have different compartments for a sand bath, digging and climbing and she doesn't throw her sawdust out when she's having fun :-)

I know the ventilation isn't the best but there is a barred bit there which I can see, but yeah, I think its lovely :)

Peaches made me laugh yesterday. She was so focused on cleaning her paw when she heard my Syrian hamster crunching his mix loudly. It startled her.

Our 6 year old has a robo she trained to sit in a toy toilet to eat his sunflower seeds
and broccoli.

Took her two days! Whenever we go anywhere she'll tell anyone who'll listen that her
hamster eats out of the toilet!

She adores the little guy, and takes such great care of him!

Zoe is on form tonight! She's started her evening by coming out for a play, then went home but decided to come out again for some ball time. Then I scattered her food and put her back again thinking that would be that for the evening like normal. But she found ALL of her food quickly then wanted out again so she came out for a bit then back when she'd had enough. Then she went for a run 'on top of her big wheel', climbed on her hanging coconut and swung about with limbs flailing all over the place, chewed on her bars a bit, climbed up the wrong way to her shelf and got stuck and had to drop down... AND THEN SHE FOUND A WAY TO ESCAPE!!! She's only managed to open the lid of her rotastak kidney shaped maxi compartment so I've had to place the Argos catalog and other heavy books on those parts!!! What is up with her tonight??? Little monster lol!!

She also figured out how to escape her play bin so had to make it more secure. Her dad says if she doesn't behave she'll be going back to the shop she came from but I know he doesn't mean it cuz he loves her as much as I do lol!
