This is a very, very late introduction. I have been so busy this last year, so I don’t get chance to post on here often anymore. But this little man deserves an intro so here it is.
So this is Jasper, but we tend to call him Jazz, or Jazzles. He’s very old now, we rescued him back in November 2011, and he was already an adult hammie. So we’re unsure of age but we’re guessing he’s almost 2 years old. He’s a hybrid with more WW in him than Campbell.
How we got him: I was searching one day on PreLoved, with no plans on actually rescuing as we already had our two hammies Milbert and Murphy, maybe some of you will remember them? Anyways I came across him and couldn’t resist. He was actually on PreLoved as a girl, and he was all the way in Blackpool, which is a long way from me. But I couldn’t leave him, so off we went. It was raining tons and we actually had a small car crash on the way. Anyways, our plans were to name him Mabel, but we knew straight away ‘she’ was a ‘he’, and settled on Jasper. The lady said she had found him abandoned in a house near her, and that he’d been left with no food or water, in a box along with a few other hams. There had clearly been fights and Jazz has a hole in his ear from this. She found him just in time and he was very thin, his backbone very obvious and he was super shy. We soon had him fattened up :)
A little about him: Jazz is such a sweetie, he’s gone mostly deaf and blind in his old age, and very wobbly. He can hear some things, and we ring a little bell before we get him out so he knows we’re there, otherwise he gets quite startled. And he is sensitive to light, but as far as we can see, he doesn’t see objects. His favourite thing to do is snuggle up in a little doughnut and have massages in the dark with mummy or daddy. He’ll happily do this for around half an hour three times a day :) He doesn't eat well either, so we give him lots of baby food too. He does quite often bite if you put your fingers in front of his mouth by accident, he just wants to know what’s there :p But it does hurt rather a lot! Jazz is a little trooper and though he has lots of health issues, he’s a happy chappy and so fun to look after.
