It's almost time to separate my litters from their mums (both mums have infinite patience with them but both are looking pretty tired now) as the babies are nearly 4 weeks old. Thought I'd take a few pics this evening.

First up The Smarterones:

They are all very tame now for baby hams and rarely jump or panic - and we've had no biting (tonight my Sable Roan was licking me!).

Hi ya aww bless they are all so very cute. I love babies hehe. You are right to separate them from mum now. I did the same with ours to give mum a rest they do start looking tired I agree.

Gorgeous babies. They all look lovely and healthy and I am sure their new owners will be as thrilled when they see them as they sound on the forum  The mums deserve a good rest now after all their hard work.

Well I've just separated the Martesers and Smarterones from their mummies - they aren't four weeks until tomorrow and saturday but both mums look absolutely shattered (though neither have shown any irritation at all with the babies - last night I watched a baby take a piece of food off Molly and she just let him!!!).

Firstly the Martesers -

Blue for a boy:

And pink for a girl:

The Smarterones (all boys):
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o209/Holly_Day/IMG_1470.jpg

And not forgetting the mums, neither of whom, have left their wheels for the past 15 minutes!

Thanks guys, I did feel a bit emotional separating them yesterday - it's like the end of an era and, because both mums have been so wonderfully patient with them, I did worry they might get upset when they realised their babies were gone.

However I've now rememberd that these are hamsters ( ) and all are very happy

That's all I've been doing for the past four weeks - which goes some way to explaining why my house is a pig-sty, I'm behind with the garden and I haven't even started any tomato plants yet
