It can be normal, I think only two of our hams usually even pretend that they're sleeping in a house.

Both syrians sleep in open nests in corners, Dusty sleeps in a nest under her climbing frame, Scruff in a big open nest at the moment, Timmy and Bump in open nests and sometimes their sand bath. Then Whizz I think actually does sleep in her Tammo house (or a burrow underneath it), and Muffin sleeps in a deep burrow underneath one of his houses and uses the house to hide the entrance.

I am such a dunderhead. For moment I thought you meant that she tipped over the cage by herself, in which case, I would have been both amazed and scared for her. I shouldn't be so quick to jump to conclusions.
