I accidently stood on Bettys wheel (Flying Saucer) whilst cleaning her out and need to get a new wheel, she has another temp FS for now but it doesn't turn as well so was thinking the Wonderland Wheel from Zooplus and was wondering if 15cm is too small or should i go for the 20cm:D

15cm is what most people use, but 20cm is fine too :)

I would go with the 20cm to be on the safe side.
15cm is just under 6" so probably not big enough.

Thanks! Think i'll go for the 20cm then just to be sure as she's a chunky little bugger.

Can anyone comment on the Wooden Exercise Wheel Speedy? It's the same price as the 15cm Wonderland Wheel and it's 20cm. I'm bargain hunting as i've had to buy a lot this month for the pets!

i have both wheels and the 20cm is the size best for my hybrids. the 15cm is really small and my robo is just the right size for it :)

Thanks Jesselle:)

I'd get the flying saucer again but i've noticed lately they're not lasting as long as they used to and are breaking a lot easier now. Don't know if they have a new manufacturer or something but they aren't as good as they used to be

here's my chunky wonton in the 20cm :)

also, agree re the flying saucers... i'm finding they're not as long lasting as i'd like.

Thanks for the picture, looks like it will be the perfect size for her.

Yeah the FS are good wheels generally but just not as long lasting as they used to be. I wanted to get the Wonderland Wheels for my mice but my males would stink them out and poop all over them in minutes so i got Silent Spinners for them but Betty the ham doesn't pee or poop on her wheel and i heard they're good so thought i'd get her one now :)

:) i used plastikote paint in a cream colour for my robo's 15cm wheel. i just painted the inside. it just means i can wipe it clean if he pees in it! if you've got a good hammy, then there might be no need.

That was just the 12 inch Syrian ones. I haven't heard of a 6.5 inch breaking yet.

I have clear plastikote so i might use that on it but she's never toileted on her wheel she picks one place and goes there so she shouldn't:)

I've had about 5 break this year - all 6.5" ones. The very first one i bought lasted over a year but these other ones i've bought since then all within a couple of months

:o oh my! I presumed you'd seen the thread about breakages and as far as I can recall they were all the 12 inch.
Can you remember what the box looked like?
Just because I had a 12" break and it was in a bright green and purple box. I have three 6.5 and one 12 that were all in a white (with orange logo) box that are all fine.

Oh no i didn't see a thread? I've never had a 12" one only 6.5" ones and they were in a white box with the orange logo (all of them). Maybe i'm just unlucky lol but it seems to be the same bit each time. It's the bit on the actual wheel that attaches to bottom part thats always broke.

The first one i had that lasted the year, it didn't really break but the white bit came out and i couldn't find it to put it back in but the rest have all snapped and only 1 i was able to glue back on but that was noisy after and i put some oil on but still made a lot of noise. I must be unlucky:lol:

Oh that's rubbish! :(
Did you manage to get your money back? I got a refund on mine three months later.

I'll bear that in mind for the future

It was after the 28 days on the receipt so didn't bother just moved to different wheels. I still have one for my 2 mice girls and the broken one i repaired for the playpen:)
