Heya, I'm considering moving my LH Syrian, Magic, from his bin cage into a ZZ2 to give him more space, and have really been inspired by the natural set ups of HC members!

I'm looking for suggestions and opinions on toys and cage accessories that would fit with a natural desert/forest look.

Ideas so far -

Cabins: (I'd like 1 or 2 of these to give some dimension to the ZZ2's single level, but I've no idea which ones! Help?)

I'm also planning on having a container for sand, a pot or two of catgrass and some of those large log-type pieces found in vivs for reptiles, if they're safe for hams? The substrate will have to be shavings, unfortunately, but I've seen some set ups using what appears to be soil? Also has anyone tried this substrate topping before - Vitakraft Bedding 10 l: Great Deals at zooplus (http://www.zooplus.co.uk/shop/small_pets/hay_and_bedding/sawdust_small_pet/92969#more).

Many thanks!

I have the Leif and Jesper houses. Love the Jesper - the top is a nice size for a shelf (handy to keep water bowls away from bedding etc).
The Leif is rather large, sort of A4 sized but very short. It would be less of a ledge and more of a small step :P Also, it has a partial wooden base, which is not great if they start weeing on it whilst inside.
Another way of adding levels would be using one of the Trixie guinea pig shelters. You can get them with steps (larger top) and without. The steps are similar to the steps you've linked to.
