Hello,
I was wondering if anyone recognised this cage?

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v441/bex_mc/DSC01590.jpg

The cage, as well as it's occupant were given to me as a surprise present and whilst it seemed quite big I'm now wondering if it's big enough?

It contains a wooden tunnel, a little rubber tube to hide treats in, a miniature sand bath, a wooden house (introduced yesterday, Lilley hasn't acknowledged its existence yet), toilet tubes, treat sticks, wooden sticks, a rush ball, a large wheel and a hanging ladder - but Lilley doesn't really pay attention to any of it, except anything involving food and her wheel.

Whenever she is awake and knows I'm in the room she will spend the whole time biting the door until I let her out in her ball or put her on my lap.

Do I need to put her in a bigger cage? Or a tank style cage with no bars? Any advice would be appreciated!

Lilly says thankyou!

What dimensions is it? The RSCPA cage guidelines are 75 by 40 cm, and a lot of forum members recommend 80 by 50 cm for a Syrian ;)

Also hello pretty girl :D

It is 47 cm long and 37cm high, so not great.

I have an opportunity to pick up a Zoozone 2 in good condition for only £21, which I am seriously considering - my only worry is Lilly loves to climb and I'm worried a barless cage might make her unhappy, even though it would sort her bar biting problem out and also stop her from spiderman crawling over the top of her cage and constantly falling down ( -.- )

I have one of the hanging ladders and by the looks of it the cage isn't anywhere near large enough hon, sorry. The wheel isn't big enough either :( Syrians need really large wheels, I'd not get a wheel under 10inches for a Syrian.

Is it this one? All for Paws Hamster Fun Home Two Storey Other Small Animal Homes for Sale (http://www.petplanet.co.uk/product.asp?dept_id=456&pf_id=60717)

She probably climbs so much because the cage is so small.

Get the ZooZone :D

It definately looks like a version of that cage, mabey slightly larger, but not large enough.

It had that tiny wheel in it, and I only just bought the blue wheel as it was twice the size.. but I need to upgrade to a silent spinner anyway aha, as she sleeps in my room.

Thankyou for the advice!

I bought the Zoozone2, for £21 it seemed like a waste not too. Now to convince my boyfriend to drive me to Croydon on saturday to pick it up... *gulp*

Awesome :D She will love the space! I can't remember if the 12" silent spinner fits in the ZZ2, they're quite tall, but there are other very quiet wheels around (the wooden Karlie (http://www.zooplus.co.uk/shop/small_pets/accessories/exercise_wheels/125485), wodent wheels (http://www.transoniq.com/), Trixie rodent wheels (http://www.equinecaninefeline.com/catalog/enclosed-large-safe-senior-rodent-wheel-degu-hamster-28cm-p-4195.html), flying saucers (http://www.equinecaninefeline.com/catalog/flying-saucer-wheel-chinchillas-rats-degus-p-4974.html)) that I think do fit.

I have the 29cm Karlie (or did have, Loki has moved cages now!) in a zoo zone 2 and it fit just fine, it's a lovely wheel.

I hope Lily likes her new cage, she'll love the space no doubt....it's just your job to fill it! You can fit sooooo much in there!

Thankyou Kissa! The wooden karlie looks even nicer than the silent spinner :)

I can definately fill it hehe, I didn't realise how addictive hamsters would become.. I tend to spend the majority of my wages on hamster toys now, it's driving my boyfriend insane. He doesn't understand the fuss :p

Boo Bear is in a Zoozone 2 and he loves to climb too but there's plenty room for toys to climb on! I ordered him one of these recently

A girl in USA makes them and it only costs around £6 including P&P and Boo Bear loves to climb on it :) I know GutterGlitter has one each for her hammies

Yeah, I ordered the standard size and it's bigger than I thought it would be, it's plenty big enough for a syrian
